Alfaima L. Solano-Blanco is a PhD Candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands). She holds a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Magdalena (Santa Marta, Colombia). Her current research interests include operation research techniques, particularly optimization, for more sustainable production systems, with a focus in addressing the logistic challenges of agri-food and biobased production systems. In 2020-2023 Alfaima was an Instructor at the Industrial Engineering Department of Universidad de los Andes. She also supervised the team The Optimistics that made it into the finals of the Modeling and Optimization: Theory and Applications (MOPTA) competition in 2021. In 2020, she participated as finalist of the MOPTA competition with the team MαD Condors.
